Mobile Mammography Clinic Returns to Canmore in January
Screen Test unit will operate at Canmore General Hospital with appointments now open

What’s Happening? A mobile mammography clinic is coming to Canmore next month, offering no cost breast cancer screening for eligible residents ages 45 to 74.
The Details. The Screen Test mobile unit will be parked at Canmore General Hospital from January 23 to 27, providing screening mammograms by appointment. The program is designed to improve access to early detection, especially in communities without local mammography services.
Why It Matters? A mammogram remains the most effective tool for catching breast cancer early, when treatment outcomes are typically far better. Health officials say regular screening in the 45 to 74 age group plays a critical role in reducing deaths from breast cancer.
How to Book. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 1 800 667 0604. The same line provides additional information on eligibility and what to expect.
Bigger Picture. Screen Test’s mobile clinics travel across Alberta each year, filling gaps in service for rural and smaller communities. Residents can also access screening at select hospitals and radiology clinics provincewide.
