Lewis Hamilton Traded the Racetrack for a Canoe at One of Canada's Most Photogenic Lakes
The seven-time world champion gave his 40 million-plus Instagram followers a glimpse of Emerald Lake

Lewis Hamilton has seen a lot of finish lines. This week, he found something a little quieter: the glassy, impossibly green water of Emerald Lake in British Columbia's Yoho National Park.
The seven-time Formula 1 world champion shared an Instagram post that appears to show him taking in the alpine scenery at the lake. His followers, all 40 million-plus of them, responded the way you'd expect: the post has racked up more than 1.2 million likes and counting.
And the locals noticed. Banff & Lake Louise Tourism dropped a comment: "We might be slightly biased, but we think you picked one of the best places to go canoeing."
Emerald Lake Lodge, which sits right on the shoreline, chimed in too. "Thanks for visiting," the lodge wrote, "looks like you had a wonderful day for canoeing!! Please come visit again soon."
The Austrian Grand Prix is set for June 28, so this looks like a brief mountain breather squeezed in before he straps back into the car.
