What Is This Thing?

On the trail to Mount Romulus from Tombstone Campground in the Elbow-Sheep Wildland, a group of hikers came across this odd metal structure: a tall black pole with a circular crown of metal fins—no signage, no explanation.

We were asked what it was, but naturally, we’re stumped.

Some think it’s a disc golf basket (though it’s unusually tall), others suggest a bird nesting platform, or even a disguised cell tower. The theories are rolling in, but no confirmed answer yet.
