Banff's Dog vs Deer Attack Update

Good morning, Bow Valley!
On Wednesday, we covered a study ranking the Best Views in Canada, with Ha Ling Peak at #10 and Tunnel Mountain Trail at #11. Your response? Mild outrage. Sure, theyâve got great viewsâbut the best the Bow Valley has to offer? Doubtful.
So, weâre taking matters into our own hands. Help us set the record straight by voting in our own (far superior) study. Share the public spots you donât mind putting on the mapâwe wonât ask for your secret gems. Take the 10-second survey, and weâll publish the definitive list.
In todayâs Bow Valley Insider:
2025-2026 ski passes are already here
An update to the dog vs deer fiasco in Banff
How Parks Canada is honoring Abbot Hut
Plus, $6 chili bowls, climbing workshops, live studio recordings, & more!
Letâs get to it!

SKI PASS SHOWDOWN: WHICH ONE IS WORTH YOUR MONEY?

Whatâs Happening? Weâre not even done with this yearâs ski season, and multi-resort passes for the 2025-26 season are here. Spoiler: Prices are creeping up. Ikon, Epic, Mountain Collective, and Indy Pass have all announced their rates, with some new perks (and losses) in the mix.
Breaking Down The Passes:
Ikon Pass ($1,329) â The most expensive option. Bow Valley resorts: Norquay, Sunshine, Lake Louise. Adds Austriaâs Ischgl and unlimited access to Arapahoe Basin, but drops Windham Mountain Club.
Epic Pass ($1,051) â Bow Valley resort: Nakiska. Adds unrestricted access to Switzerlandâs Verbier 4 VallĂ©es and includes bonus buddy tickets.
Mountain Collective ($639) â Bow Valley resorts: Sunshine, Lake Louise. Also covers nearby Marmot Basin, Panorama, and Revelstoke. Loses Arapahoe Basin but remains a solid pick.
Indy Pass ($369) â The budget-friendly choice, expanding to 250 resorts, including its first Southern Hemisphere location in Chile. No Bow Valley resorts, but Castle Mountain is included.
Is It Worth It? For 20+ days on the slopes, a pass pays off. But with most skiers logging 3-10 days, resorts are selling more than accessâthey're selling the dream.
FLOORS SO GOOD, YOUâLL WANT TO EAT OFF THEM

Okay, Maybe Not. But You Get the Idea.
You spend your life walking, dancing, and (letâs be honest) occasionally dropping snacks on your floor. Shouldnât it be flawless, durable, and totally you?
Thatâs where Marchâs Flooring & Design comes in. They donât just sell floorsâthey help you create a home that feels amazing from the ground up.
â Hardwood, vinyl, tile & carpet for any space
â Expert design services to tie it all together
â Full-service installation (because you have better things to do)
