2026 Backcountry Booking Dates Begin in January Across the Canadian Rockies
A park-by-park breakdown of when backcountry reservations open and where to book

If you are hoping to camp or hike some of the most popular backcountry routes in the Rockies next summer, January is when it all starts. Parks Canada’s reservation system opens in waves, and many of the most in-demand trips are booked within minutes. Below are the key dates Bow Valley locals should know for 2026 backcountry reservations.
