Bow Valley Insider Ice Climbing Adventure

Alright, here’s the plan. We’re putting together two ice climbing adventures in December, and you get to choose the dates that work best for you, depending on if you prefer weekdays or weekends.
Two Groups, So Everyone Has a Good Time
Last month’s Via Ferrata trip taught us a lot. Mixing total beginners with folks who’ve climbed before didn’t really work. So this time:
Group A: Beginners
For anyone who’s never climbed, belayed, or touched ice tools. Zero experience needed. Day 1 is learning the basic movements and safety stuff, and Day 2 is where it all starts to click.
Group B: Climbers
If you’ve passed a belay test at a gym or climbed outside before, this is your crew. We’re not teaching knots. We’re getting right into ice-specific skills, technique, and actually moving well on real ice. Day 2 is just reps, routes, and having fun.
Each group caps at six people so it stays small and manageable.
Pick Your Dates
You’ve got two options:
December 4–5 (mid-week)
or
December 6–7 (weekend)
Fully Guided by Leviathan Mountain Guides
We’re working with Braden again. If you joined the Nordegg Via Ferrata adventure, you already know he’s solid. It’s a full two-day guided experience.
What It Costs
The price is $385 for both days, which is honestly the cheapest you’ll find anywhere for a guided adventure like this in a small group. We’re getting a super solid deal.
You’ll need to rent ice climbing boots and crampons if you don’t already have them.
Gear Up in Canmore rents both for roughly $30–$40 for the weekend. Or if you’re in Calgary, the Outdoor Centre at the UofC has all the gear.
How to Join
We need you to commit by Sunday, November 23 so we can start organizing the groups.
Once you pay, we’ll ask you for your preferred dates and your experience level.
After that, I’ll send the full info pack with gear lists, meeting spots, all the little details.
Who This Is For
Basically anyone who wants a real winter adventure with a fun group of Bow Valley people. Whether you’ve climbed forever or never touched a rope, we’ve built this to work for both.
Ready to Go?
Should be a really good couple of days out there. Let me know if you have questions ([email protected]).
