We’re the Locals’ Brand

If you are looking to attract and engage with Bow Valley locals and “weekenders,” you are in the right place.

Everything we do is built for locals.

If you live and work in the Bow Valley full time, or you live within driving distance and spend your weekends playing in the mountains, you will likely see our content in one way or another.

Locals come to Bow Valley Insider to get their news, find out what is happening in the community, and learn about things to do across Canmore, Banff, and the surrounding region.

People within driving distance? Yes.

People who need to hop on a plane? No.

If this sounds like the right audience for your business, start by filling out this quick form. We’ll follow up to book a short intro call.

Our Media Business, at a Glance

Locals connect with Bow Valley Insider in two primary ways: our digital publication and our social media channels.

Our digital publication is sent by email every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7 AM. Think of it like a newspaper, but instead of flipping pages, you are scrolling and tapping on your phone.

It is a 5 to 7 minute read designed to get readers caught up on everything happening in the community. We keep things light, fun, and written with a strong local personality.

Here is what one of our readers, Lacy, recently shared:

Our social media presence focuses primarily on Instagram and Facebook.

We produce short-form video content using a mix of green-screen style explainers and in-person, on-location videos filmed around the Bow Valley.

Each month, we produce approximately 60 to 70 videos covering local news, community issues, and lifestyle content that shows us doing cool things in the mountains.

Are You a Good Fit to Work With Us?

Before anything else, we want to make sure your business is a good fit for our platform.

We receive 15 to 30 partnership inquiries every week, but we only work with a small portion of them. When a partnership is not the right fit, we will often refer businesses elsewhere.

You may not be a good fit if:

  • You are looking to attract international tourists or visitors flying in for a one-week vacation in Banff. We do not publish content for a pure visitor audience. Our focus is locals and people within driving distance.

  • You are looking for a one-off promotion. We do not run single-feature campaigns. We would rather work with fewer partners and build deeper, longer-term campaigns that integrate your brand consistently in front of our audience. Repetition builds trust, and trust drives results.

  • You are looking for free promotion or in-kind sponsorships. We have a proven track record of turning local attention into real results for our partners. That only works because we invest serious time, expertise, and effort into every campaign.

Our team includes experienced copywriters, video producers, and digital marketers who work together to build strategies that actually perform. That level of work requires commitment on both sides.

The #1 Thing to Know About Working With Us: It’s a Collaboration

If you have advertised in a print publication before, this is not that.

Traditional advertising usually looks like this:

  • You buy a set amount of space.

  • You write and design the ad.

  • It gets published exactly as is.

  • You have no idea whether it worked.

Collaborating with us looks different.

You come to us with a goal, such as selling more tickets, booking more clients, or increasing foot traffic.

Because we know our audience better than anyone else, we help shape the ideas, messaging, and strategy that will best support that goal.

It is not just about reach. It is about influence.

Our audience trusts that when we feature or recommend a business, it has been vetted and aligns with the level of service and experience they expect in the Bow Valley.

That trust is why we are selective about who we work with. If we promoted everyone indiscriminately, that trust would disappear, and results would suffer for everyone.

Before any campaign begins, we take time to understand your business, how you operate, and what success looks like for you. That is the foundation of every partnership.

After a campaign runs, we also report back on how it performed.

We use modern digital marketing tools that allow us to track engagement and, where possible, attribute new leads, customers, and sales back to Bow Valley Insider.

You will have a clear picture of what worked, what resonated with our audience, and how the collaboration contributed to your business goals.

What Our Partners Have Achieved

Here are a few examples of what our partners have accomplished through collaborations with Bow Valley Insider:

Why We Don’t Send Media Kits

Many businesses ask us for a media kit.

Put simply, we do not use them.

Our audience size, engagement, and reach are growing constantly. Any static document would be outdated almost immediately.

Pricing also varies. While we do have baseline packages, we do not offer them unless they make sense for your business and goals.

We focus on value over cost.

For example, if a new client is worth $2,000 to your business over their lifetime, the real question becomes how many new clients we need to generate for a campaign to make sense. If the numbers do not add up, we will be honest and suggest a different approach.

Every partnership is built differently. Some partners need more social media content. Others benefit more from written features. No media kit can accurately capture the range of ways we build and execute campaigns.

Most of our best partnerships start with a simple conversation, not a pitch.
